We're looking for good sounds

Those who love to watch or play Dota2 already know how important sounds are. Here, in warcraft 3, we don't have that much space for work - there are pretty small pool of sounds available, but even worse, it's hard to find the one which fits the ability. And that's where you can contribute.

All you have to do is to start warcraft3 editor, select "Create new map", and then press F5 to open Sounds manager.

Then you can look through all the sounds, looking for the one which could fit to an ability or some effects which has no sound at this moment. If some ability has awful sound, you can find a replacement for that as well. Don't foget a lot of sounds are already used somewhere, try to avoid using the same sound for different abilities.

Would like to see your suggestions about that. Last patches I've added some sounds to sentinel's str heroes, but that was really boring ._.

The forum doesnt support .wav file extension

where do you want the sounds to be uploaded ?

you can use archives like rar or zip, but I expected to see path to default sounds

not really needed to upload sound if we can listen them somewhere in internet or WC3, show the link or path is enough

The Io 1/2 sounds are ItemRecived.wav , But these are edited a little bit using Audacity ,maybe the should be used on Relocate ?

The Radiance 2/1 are MagicLariatLoop1.wav but i decresed the pitch and the increased the duration ,maybe they should be used for Radiance, but i still think they're bad

The Shackles sound is MagicLariatLoop1.wav , its really bad too.

The Torrent sound is a sound file picked up from Freesound.org , its within the Public Domain , even if its not, i dont think an unofficial mod would invoke the wrath of a lawyer , this sound is amplified a little bit and made exactly 2seconds +2 milliseconds

Upheavel or Dark rift sound is MagicLariatLoop1.wav , but its much slower and have a lower pitch too , it should be used on either dark rift or upheavel its really good too

The Wards sound is ShrineofAzura.wav (i think) , maybe this one should be used seperatly on sentry wards or observer wards or on both ,use whetever you see fit , but still i think this sound needs more work

Exorcism1 sound is the exact same sound used in the map ,but its pitch is lowered down a bit

Hex sound is the same sound used in the map but its a little bit changed so maybe it should be used on Lion or Rhasta

Invisibility 1/2 sounds are the same sounds but the each has a diffrent pitch

Invisibilty break sound is what the name suggest , it should be used after the duration of the invisibilty is over

Lightning sound is the same sound used on Arc Lightning but its pitch is lowered ,so maybe it should be used on either Lightning Bolt or Thundergod Wrath or on both

Nature Guise sound is the exact same sound but it's duration is increased to fit with the fadetime

Sunray1 sound is the sound of Supernova but it's pitch is lowered so it gives this "sunny" feeling , it should be used on Sunray since it doesnt have any sound

Thing about custom sounds is - Im not aware how wc3 maintains it. Like, I can't make it run, game refuse to start the sound and I dont know why. So far I only used ingame sounds for that reason, not to speak there are limitations about it as well zzz

Did "Sunray1" sound work ?

Supernova has global sound, while Sunray should be localized sound, will look into it later
